Who we are?

London Irish Foundation is a charity, working to use the power of sport to deliver life-changing programmes and make a positive impact on individuals and communities it works with.

Our key strands are sport development, education, community engagement, and inclusion.

Guided by a commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, the Foundation delivers projects that foster equity, sustainability, and responsible leadership.

Why we partnered with kitround

Access to kit is a hidden barrier that prevents too many people, young and old, from getting involved in sport. Through our partnership with kitround, we can turn donated kit into an opportunity – creating new pathways into sport participation whilst reducing waste. It aligns with our key strands, sustainability and behaviour change, as our partnership develops.

Our objectives together

In Spring 2025, we initiated a kit collection and resale campaign, engaging players, supporters and families within our community and beyond to get involved. Through our dedicated London Irish Foundation kit shop, we sold donated items to raise proceeds, enabling us to fund our community programmes.

"This isn’t just about kit — it’s about inclusion, dignity, and giving every child a place in the game."

What's next?

We’re now planning to expand the programme across our partner schools — making it easy for students and families to both donate and access quality sports kit. With kitround, we’ll pilot mobile collection bins, digital vouchers for families in need, and a rugby-specific impact leaderboard to reward participation.

Why we exist

In the UK an estimated 100,000 tonnes of sportswear ends up in landfill each year.
